John Fig: Yvette, Betty and family
With Nana Billie's passing, I been reflecting on life and your parents.
There was a window of time in America when growth, opportunity and prosperity abounded.
The post WWII era was one that afforded people with Heart and Capability the chance to excel.
Bill and Billie were the type of people of good heart, right mind, and strong spirit that prospered in this environment.
I only had the privilege to know your parents for a few years.
But as I came to know them I can truly say I came to appreciate them and love them as individuals.
Your father, Papa Bill, was a man of conviction, intelligence, and purpose, I wish we had both met as younger men.
Nana Billie a woman of beauty, and spirit.
Nanna was a complex women, that had many experiences over her life.
She had the eye of an artist, the competitiveness of an athlete, and the fire in her belly of a soldier.
As we look back on life, one of the measure of our impact is the legacy that we leave behind.
What a testament you are to your parents as people.
My Daughters, my wife and I all love you dearly and grieve with you. What delightfrul people were your parents Billie and Bill. I will miss them.
With love and respect.
