Pet Services

Animals are not only wonderful friends - they are part of our family. They ask so little of us, and give so much love in return. When it comes time for you to let go of your beloved pet, making the decisions on how to care for the physical remains can be heart-wrenching.

While Pet services are not the cornerstone of our business, we certainly do provide for ways to say farewell to these dearly departed members of the family.

My Pet Has Died - What Are My Choices?

Some families will bring their pet home and hold a burial at their residence. If that isn’t an option for you, and you choose to have your pet cremated, we’re here to help. While we do not perform pet cremations, we DO have a selection of reputable referrals we can make for you, as well as a variety of beautiful keepsake jewelry, urns, and memorial products. Our goal is to help you care for your animal companions in the same loving way as you care for the other members of your family.

Private Cremation

A private cremation means your pet is placed in the cremation chamber alone. Upon completion of the cremation, your pet's cremated remains are removed from the chamber, and returned to you, in an urn of your choice.

Here, your pet shares space in the cremation chamber with other pets, but as each pet carries a unique identification tag into the chamber, you’re ensured of receiving only your pet’s cremated remains.

In a communal cremation, your pet is cremated along with a number of other pets, and the cremated remains are not separated. No cremated remains are returned to you. It is common practice for these cremated remains to be scattered in a communal garden, or released at sea.

Ashes on the Sea has special pricing for all of our pet services. We offer the same kinds of services for pets as we do for humans. Unattended, attended, and view from the shore. Your service can be basic, or you can add special options including flowers and other biodegradable items.
