Burial at Sea Services We Offer
You Can't Go Back and Do it Over Some say it’s harsh to say it, but we know we must. We want you to be able to honor your loved one in a way that allows you to look back on the occasion, even years from now, and be glad that you did the best you could to honor the life of your loved one.
Is there a "wrong" way to conduct your service? Certainly not - but we must say - the only wrong thing would be not to give this some careful thought and discussion with all who are involved. We have different types of services to suit your family's individual needs without compromising your wishes, your budget, or your traditions. We can accommodate almost any reasonable request, however small or unique. If you do not see exactly what you are looking for on our website, please make sure to use the Contact Us form to submit your wishes. In the rush of things, sometimes families can discount the value of a service after the death of a loved one, and we certainly don’t want you to make that mistake. Coming together after a loss is an essential part of the grieving process... |
Create a Healing ExperienceWe've been serving families since 1997 and have had many different requests over the years. The important thing is creating a ceremony - whether simple or more elaborate - that calls together the hearts and minds of all who loved them - this is a gift to everyone involved. A gift of memories, a gift of healing...a priceless gift of peace-of-mind. We promote family-led services. Each of our families will receive our Guide to Planning a Family-Led Service.

Unattended ServicesWe've been handling the dignified disposition of ashes since 1997. Sometimes, the family cannot attend. An unattended service involves you sending or bringing to us the ashes of your loved one, allowing us to scatter them the next time we go out on the water. We usually scatter the ashes within a week to 30 days of receipt. We even offer a phone call on the day we are going out to scatter the ashes. See "Sending Ashes" for more information.

View From the Shore
What does a "view from the shore" service look like? What can families expect? Captain Ken explains in this 3 minute video recorded off the coast of San Diego: Watch
This service allows you to view the scattering of your loved one's ashes from a local beach or pier, while we perform the ceremony from the vessel. You can even watch the service being performed from a surfboard using our Paddle-Out service. |

Full Body Burial at SeaWest Coast and East Coast
Sometimes called "whole body burial at sea," this type of service is usually scheduled through your funeral home. Unlike cremains, with a whole body, there is a time constraint in performing the service. We use the Pacific Coast Shroud pictured here. We must go to a depth of 600 feet, although we usually go where it is at least 1,000 feet deep. The travel distance and time will differ from each port of departure as the depth of the ocean floor varies from place to place. |
